Job Summary
RN Lactation Consultant role providing care for obstetrical and infant patients through education and consultation. Duties include assessing obstetrical, newborn, and breastfeeding patient needs; developing/revising evidence-based nursing policies, standards of care, protocols, and preprinted orders; delivering evidence-based nursing care for mothers and infants via direct patient interaction or telephone helpline; collaborating with other healthcare professionals; and serving as a resource/educator/consultant for patients, families, staff, and the community. Requires RN licensure and an Associate's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred); IBCLC required within 18 months; CLC preferred. Part-time, day shift, at Greer Memorial Hospital, Greer, SC.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing
- Current RN license recognized by NCSBN compact or licensed in SC
- Two years of L&D, Mom/Baby, lactation or related nursing experience
- IBCLC required to obtain within 18 months
Desired Qualifications
- IBCLC certification within 18 months
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) preferred
