Job Summary
RN Lactation Consultant providing in-patient and out-patient consultation for breastfeeding support, leading Breastfeeding Friendly Initiative (BFI) initiatives, and coaching staff in breastfeeding best practices within the Postnatal Clinics and Women’s and Children’s Program. Requires nursing licensure, specialized lactation certification, and experience in mother-baby/NICU settings; role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care, teaching and leadership in lactation care.
Required Qualifications
- Current Certificate of Competence from College of Nurses of Ontario
- NRP Certification required
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (I.B.C.L.C.)
- BCLS required
- Three years current experience in Mother Baby Unit and NICU preferred
