Job Summary
Coordinate inpatient breastfeeding needs and train staff and community members in breastfeeding techniques. Update resources and documentation while demonstrating diversity, integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence. Enhance a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients. Perform other duties as assigned. This role supports Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare's advanced care programs, including Level II Trauma and Primary Stroke Center capabilities, within the region's largest nonprofit community-based healthcare system.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree (or equivalent) in nursing from a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
- Two (2) years of registered nursing experience
- Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (F.S.), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure]
- Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) credential from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP)
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) within one (1) year post-hire
- All employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, background check, reference verification, health assessment, and credential/license verification
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Advanced lactation consultant training
- Two (2) to five (5) years of obstetrical registered nursing experience
- IBCLC credential from the IBLCE at hire
