Job Summary
Provide and coordinate inpatient breastfeeding needs while demonstrating understanding of diversity and integrity. Train staff and community members in breastfeeding techniques and update resources and documentation. Enhance a safe environment for colleagues, visitors, and patients. Obtain Certified Lactation Counselor credential and work toward International Board Certified Lactation Consultant credential within one year post-hire. Join Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare's Level III Neonatal Intensive Care team as a Registered Nurse with two years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree (or equivalent) in nursing from a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
- Two (2) years of registered nursing experience
- Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (F.S.), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure]
- Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) credential from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP)
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) within one (1) year post-hire
- All employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, background check, reference verification, health assessment, and credential/license verification
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Advanced lactation consultant training
- Two (2) to five (5) years of obstetrical registered nursing experience
- IBCLC credential from the IBLCE at hire
