Job Summary
Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the Labor and Delivery unit, conducting thorough patient assessments, administering prescribed medications, and monitoring fetal well-being using electronic fetal monitoring. Assist physicians during procedures, manage labor induction and pain relief, and respond to medical emergencies including CPR and code team activities. Monitor mothers and newborns post-delivery, assess physical recovery, and provide education on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn health. Adhere to infection control protocols, maintain accurate medical documentation, and participate in performance improvement initiatives and audits. Maintain regular attendance and comply with all organizational policies and standards of practice.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting
- Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively
- Proficient in administering medications and monitoring for side effects
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care
- Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
- BCLS - Basic Life Support

- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation
