Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for labor and delivery and postpartum units using the nursing process while incorporating family-centered principles. Partner with patients and families to develop teaching strategies, document education in health records, and discharge patients safely under Nurse Leader direction. Perform professional nursing care consistent with ANA scope of practice and Corewell Health policies across a 14-bed unit that includes triage, labor, delivery, and postpartum services. Work night shifts (7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.) with variable weekend frequency.
Required Qualifications
- Associates in Nursing
- Bachelors in Nursing within 5 years
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
- MI Registered Nurse (RN)
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association within 90 days
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM) - NCC National Certification Corporation Birthplace within 1 1/2 years
- Drug-free workplace
- Compliance with MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement
Desired Qualifications
- AHA Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Labor and Delivery within 2 year
