Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate professional nursing care for labor and delivery patients using the nursing process and patient-family-centered principles. Partner with patients and families to develop teaching strategies, document education in health records, and discharge patients according to Corewell Health policies. Provide quality care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, recognizing the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes. Requires an Associate or Bachelor's in Nursing, NCLEX licensure, and certifications including BLS, NRP, and C-EFM. Night shift rotation from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with variable days and every other weekend.
Required Qualifications
- Associates in Nursing
- Bachelors in Nursing within 5 years
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
- MI Registered Nurse (RN)
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association within 90 days
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM) - NCC National Certification Corporation Birthplace within 1 1/2 years
- Drug-free workplace
- Compliance with MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement
Desired Qualifications
- AHA Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Labor and Delivery within 2 year
