Job Summary

RN – L&D/Mother Baby Unit: Provides direct care to obstetric patients and newborns in the Mother Baby Unit, including intrapartum care, fetal monitoring, medication administration specific to obstetric patients, patient and family education, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Performs initial assessments, develops and adjusts care plans, ensures safe nursing care, maintains documentation, and supports professional practice. Requires active RN licensure in Illinois, NRP and ACLS certifications (within specified timeframes), and BLS (within 30 days). A 10,000 sign-on bonus is noted with external applicants. The role is based in the Mother Baby/L&D unit at Carle Health in Illinois with a compensation range of $36.80 to $59.89 per hour, plus comprehensive benefits.

Required Qualifications

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 1 year - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Education: Nursing; College Diploma: Nursing
  • Work Experience: RN>2yr
