Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in Labor and Delivery, including multi-system assessments, medication administration, and emergency interventions. Coordinate patient care activities with other hospital departments and community agencies while developing individual nursing plans sensitive to developmental needs. Document all care accurately in the EMR and participate in unit quality assurance activities. Requires a Washington or Oregon RN license within three months of hire, Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification, and at least one year of recent Labor and Delivery experience. Successful completion of a labor and delivery fellowship is considered for the required experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year of in Labor and Delivery experience in the last three (3) years
  • Successful completion of a labor and delivery fellowship
  • Nine (9) months of RN experience in last twelve (12) months
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Registered Nurse License (Washington) within 3 months of hire OR Compact License: Registered Nurse within 3 months of hire
  • Registered Nurse License (Oregon) within 3 months of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program required at hire
  • Basic Life Support
  • Computer keyboarding skills
  • Ability to use and apply effective communication and interpersonal relationship skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous health care experience
  • Bachelors degree in nursing or related field
  • Three (3) plus years of recent experience (must have occurred within the last two (2) years) in Labor and Delivery
  • One (1) year of high-risk labor and delivery experience within the last two (2) years
