Job Summary
Evaluate, plan, implement, and document nursing care for an assigned patient population on a cardiology-focused medical/surgical unit. Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, perform various patient tests, and administer medications within scope. Promote patient independence by establishing care goals and teaching self-care skills for conditions such as chest pain, congestive heart failure, and arrhythmia. Expect a wide degree of creativity and latitude in care delivery. Candidates must be a state-registered nurse with less than three years of experience enrolled in a baccalaureate program or three years with an ADN/BSN. BLS certification is required. Regular attendance and physical ability to lift 35 lbs and perform patient transfers are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a national accredited Nursing program
- RN with less than 3 years' patient-facing nursing experience at time of hire are required to be enrolled in a baccalaureate (or higher) degree program in nursing within 1 year of employment, with completion within 3 years of hire
- RN with at least 3 years' patient-facing nursing experience at time of hire, ADN or diploma required
- State of Idaho Registered Nurse OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the 'multistate privilege to practice' compact with Idaho prior to start date
- BLS
- Must be able to lift and move up to 35 lbs
- Must be able to maintain a standing position
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend
- Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
- Must be able to assist in patient transfer
- Exposure to needles, blood and body fluids, etc.
