Job Summary
Provide direct patient care for adults with conditions such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, and pneumonia using the nursing process. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, ensure patient safety, and maintain accurate documentation. Perform frequent assessments and deliver compassionate care aligned with Mercy's mission. This part-time role offers 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) with self-scheduling available. The unit provides a strong clinical foundation with diverse patient needs and opportunities for continued professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)
- Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior hospital or acute‐care nursing experience
- Specialty certifications
