Job Summary
Provide direct patient care on the Inpatient Med/Surg unit using the nursing process, coordinating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Manage care for adults with conditions including small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia through frequent assessments and documentation. Maintain patient safety while collaborating on diverse clinical needs. Work full-time nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours weekly. This role offers a strong clinical foundation for nurses seeking variety and professional development within Mercy Hospital South's collaborative team.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)
- Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior hospital or acute‐care nursing experience
- Specialty certifications
