Job Summary
Provide nursing care for Interventional Radiology patients by administering IV conscious sedation and medications under physician direction. Monitor patient status during procedures, respond to emergencies including contrast reactions, and manage central lines or perform dressing changes. Collaborate with radiologists and technologists to ensure safe, efficient procedures while coordinating daily procedure scheduling and patient flow within the IR lab. Educate patients and families on procedures and recovery, document all care accurately in Epic, and support quality and safety initiatives. Precept and mentor new staff members. This PRN role offers hourly pay ranging from $36.00 to $55.80 based on expertise and is located in Elmhurst.
Required Qualifications
- IL RN license
- Graduate of a NLN accredited school of Nursing
- BSN within 5 years of hire
- CPR: BLS & ACLS required (Issued by American Heart Association)
- Provide nursing care for Interventional Radiology patients

- Monitor patient status during procedures and respond to emergencies, including contrast reactions
- Start IVs, manage central lines, and perform dressing changes
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and care teams to ensure safe, efficient procedures
- Coordinate and support daily procedure scheduling and patient flow within the IR lab
- Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and follow-up care
- Document all care and procedures accurately in Epic
- Support quality and safety initiatives, including inventory and equipment readiness
- Precept and mentor new staff and assist with training of team members
Desired Qualifications
- BSN strongly preferred, must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire
- Critical Care/Emergency Department and conscious sedation experience
- Medical Surgical with telemetry monitoring experience
