Job Summary

Monitor and evaluate the clinical status of patients in holding areas and procedure rooms, prioritizing care activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Administer moderate sedation medications as ordered, perform venipunctures, place intravenous lines, and manage pain measures while assisting physicians with diagnostic and endovascular radiology procedures. Operate infusion pumps and monitoring equipment, continuously assess vital signs and patient response, and immediately report abnormalities to the attending physician. Maintain medical records, document patient status, manage controlled substances inventory, and respond to code blue situations or medical emergencies. Provide instruction to patients and families, transport specimens and equipment, and supervise LPNs, students, and new staff members. Complete required continuous training and support performance improvement initiatives within the radiology department.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved nursing school/program
  • Registered Nurse licensure to work in State of TN
  • CPR/BLS certification
  • ACLS/PALS certifications
  • Twelve (12) months clinical experience in a critical care environment
  • Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population
