Job Summary
Provide comprehensive, high-acuity nursing care to adults with acute respiratory failure, sepsis, or severe multi-organ dysfunction in a 16-bed intermediate care unit bridging intensive and general care. Collaborate within interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe transitions for patients stepping down from critical care units. Maintain evidence-based problem-solving and critical thinking standards while participating in shared governance structures. Work 90% FTE on 12-hour day/evening shifts with weekend and holiday rotation, earning evening and weekend differentials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
- Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
- Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
- ACLS within 6 months Required
