Job Summary
Render and supervise care for patients on the Inpatient Unit while implementing specific detoxification protocols designated by the Medical Director. Observe patients for clinical signs and symptoms, record pertinent information regarding their condition and treatment effects, and participate in evaluating patient progress with other team members. Assign duties to Recovery Specialists and develop nursing treatment plans. Report all emergency, medical, and disciplinary situations to the Nursing Administrator and consult with medical doctors, nurse practitioners, or psychiatrists as necessary. Participate in QA activities, regularly scheduled meetings, and conferences to stay current on nursing practice trends. Work 36-40 hours per week in three 12-hour shifts plus rotating holidays.
Required Qualifications
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current certification in BLS/CPR
- Participation in required CEU programs
- Must submit a CORI release form and demonstrate proof of being free from disqualifying information
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of detoxification regimes in substance abuse a plus but will train
- Experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or NextGen a plus
- Familiarity and ability to work with diversity of cultural/socio-economic backgrounds
- General knowledge of cultural backgrounds of patients to be served
- Appreciation of and desire to be part of the treatment team which is dedicated to providing client with optimal therapeutic care
