Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients on the inpatient medical floor while maintaining professional accountability. Coordinate patient care with other departments and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Perform duties using the nursing process, including physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs, while standing and walking throughout the 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM day shift. Hold a current Missouri RN license and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
Desired Qualifications
- BSN
- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
- Previous hospital experience
