Job Summary
Manage patient clinical status, venous access, and HD machine technical aspects during hemodialysis procedures for pediatric and adult populations. Oversee dialysis technicians from start to finish, provide patient and family education, and conduct surveillance testing of water treatment equipment. Participate in quality improvement activities by collecting data for the unit's QAI plan and identifying gaps in knowledge to manage risks. Schedule runs 0700–1900 Monday through Saturday with mandatory on-call rotation 1900–0700 Monday through Saturday, all day Sunday, and holidays. Requires current Oregon RN license, BLS certification, and one year of adult dialysis experience or equivalent technician background. BSN or ADN graduates required with specific enrollment timelines.
Required Qualifications
- One year experience in adult dialysis procedures
- One year experience in dialysis, including past dialysis technician experience
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date
- Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire
- Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
- BLS from AHA
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
