Job Summary
Float across multiple departments and specialties caring for complex patient populations in medical, surgical, and intermediate care units. Provide high-quality, evidence-based care by evaluating patients, recognizing complications, and administering nursing interventions while partnering with multidisciplinary teams. Serve as a mentor and role model with opportunities to precept new nurses and participate in strategic planning and quality improvement efforts. Work 60% FTE evening/night shifts (7:00pm–7:30am) with every other weekend and holiday rotation. Requires six months of inpatient experience or successful completion of the Nurse Residency Program, plus two years of eICU experience. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Wisconsin with current CPR/BLS and ACLS certification. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
- Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
- Two (2) years of nursing experience Required
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
- Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
- ACLS within 6 months Required
