Job Summary
The RN-inpatient/PICU role provides individualized nursing care in the pediatric intensive care setting using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes planning, implementation, evaluation). Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians and inter-professional colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care; patient assessment; triage; patient education; and coordinating care across all phases of prevention, treatment, and follow-up. The nurse will practice within the scope of nursing standards and licensure, maintain required competencies, and contribute to a high-quality, multidisciplinary care environment. A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred and an unencumbered RN license (with multistate licensure if applicable) is required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license
- multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
- maintains department-specific competencies and certifications
