RN Inpatient- Children's OR- PRN

Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care and treatment for patients in the Children's OR inpatient area. Coordinate clinical operations including patient scheduling, record maintenance, and admissions. Counsel patients and families on treatment conditions, diet, medication side effects, and compliance schedules. Act as a liaison with case managers, home health nurses, and utilization review. Provide patient education on condition status, medication importance, and safety protocols. Coordinate referrals to internal and external services. Maintain accurate patient records and function as a preceptor per UMMC guidelines. Serve on nursing councils or committees to improve patient care. Report patient issues to supervisors as appropriate.
