Job Summary
Charge Nurse role overseeing a nursing unit, supervising nursing personnel, coordinating staffing and resources, participating in staff evaluations and hiring input, coordinating unit activities, and ensuring quality patient care. Responsibilities include clinical leadership across shifts, communicating with the Nursing Coordinator and Hospital Supervisors, participating in patient care planning, discharge planning, staff education and orientation, development of standards and protocols, and involvement in multidisciplinary meetings and quality assurance activities. Requires RN licensure in Oregon, BLS, and several years of RN experience with a preference for mental health or psychiatric care experience; leadership and educational duties are expected, including interviewing applicants, supervising staff, and contributing to departmental goals.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of Registered Nurse experience
- one year in clinical specialty
- Nine (9)months ofrecent Med/Surg RN or Mental Health RN experience
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- High school diploma or GED
- Registered Nurse License (Oregon)
- Basic Life Support
