Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) for the In-House Agency PRN program at UAMS. Provides direct patient care in an acute care hospital setting on a 13-week, 36-hours-per-week assignment with weekend differentials. Requires RN license in Arkansas and 12 months of acute care experience, with at least 6 months in direct patient care in the past year. Responsibilities include coordinating care with clinic providers, triaging patients, facilitating transitions of care, and patient education on complex conditions. Must be able to work collaboratively with families and care teams, and may require chemotherapy certification for Oncology units. Six demonstrate adaptability to shift variations, and be prepared for pre-employment screening and background checks. Benefits and protections are outlined by UAMS for eligible staff.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license issued by the State of Arkansas
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor’s in Nursing, or Master’s in Nursing
- 12 months RN experience in an acute care hospital
- Direct patient care experience in last 12 months (minimum 6 months) in an acute care hospital
- Ability to work 36 hours/week for 13 weeks under PRN (as needed) arrangement
- Strong communication and computer skills
