Job Summary
Assess patient needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary groups. Manage nursing team resources and delegate tasks to licensed and ancillary staff while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Adapt communication styles to diverse patient populations and promote change using data to achieve optimal outcomes. Maintain knowledge of accreditation standards and report any compliance concerns immediately. This 8-week assignment requires a registered nurse with one year of experience and BLS certification to provide care in a patient care area with exposure to blood and body fluids.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 1 year of experience as a registered nurse
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to lift 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Must be able to lift 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently
- Must be able to lift 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
- Must be able to walk or stand to a significant degree
- Must be able to push and/or pull of arm or leg controls
- Must be able to work at a production rate pace
- Must be able to move objects
- Must be able to work in an area where patients enter
- Must be able to work directly with patients
- Must be able to work with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
- Must be able to handle receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste
- Must reside in an area other than Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C.
