Job Summary
Conduct patient-centered care in the Intensive Care Unit, performing thorough assessments, administering medications, and managing complex medical equipment such as ventilators and IV pumps. Respond to medical emergencies, participate in code team activities, and assist physicians during procedures within documented competency. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans, while providing patient and family education on conditions and post-discharge care. Adhere to infection control protocols, National Patient Safety Goals, and organizational policies to maintain a safe environment. Document all care and education thoroughly in the medical record. Maintain regular attendance and complete required certifications including BCLS and ACLS.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting
- Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively
- Proficient in administering medications and monitoring for side effects
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care
- Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
