Job Summary

Vascular Access Nurse responsible for assessment, insertion, maintenance and management of vascular access devices (PICC lines, midlines, peripheral IVs) with emphasis on patient safety and high-quality care. Preferred candidates have infusion, mid-line, and PICC placement experience, strong venous-access knowledge, and proficiency in IV administration and central line care. Requires independent judgment, time management and collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Schedule: Full Time, 36 hours/week with 12-hour day shifts. License in DC required; VA-BC certification preferred with 18-month attainment window. Strong communication and teamwork skills expected.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia
  • Certification in Vascular Access (VA-BC) preferred with 18-month timeline to obtain
  • Advanced knowledge of ultrasound technology and vascular anatomy
  • Experience: Minimum of three years hospital experience as a practicing nurse (vascular experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in IV placement, central line care, blood draws, and medication management—including IV administration and anaphylaxis response
