Job Summary
Staff RN (RN II DOU) provides skilled nursing care to a designated patient group on nights (12-hour shifts) across units, coordinating and implementing patient care tailored to the patient population served. Responsibilities include using nursing skills to assess biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care and educational needs; developing, implementing, and revising the plan of care; ensuring quality, safe, efficient care aligned with unit standards. Requires ongoing license maintenance (California RN), BLS, ACLS within 3 months, NIH Stroke Scale Certification within 3 months for certain units, and stroke-education hours. Residency program participation within the first 6 months and preferred 1 year of critical care experience.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in California
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification within 3 months
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification 'A' within 3 months of hire/transfer for applicable departments
- Annual 8 hours of Stroke Education for applicable departments
