Job Summary
Initiate corrective action for adverse symptomology from monitoring equipment and respond to life-threatening situations using nursing standards and protocols. Provide critical care nursing to a complex, high-acuity patient population while maintaining a safe environment and optimizing outcomes. Handle critical and highly stressful situations with decisive judgment, efficiency, and composure in a fast-paced ICU setting. Requires proficient direct patient care aligned with organizational scope and standards of practice.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- Any relevant certification as determined at position level
- 6 months of ICU or PCU (Progressive Care Unit) nursing (RN) experience or completion of the UCHealth Fellowship program
- BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS and ACLS cards must be good through sixty days of hire
