Job Summary
Provides direct inpatient care for mother-baby couplets and neonates; assesses and manages complex lactation issues, serving as a lactation consultant, educator, and mentor to nurses, health care professionals, and patients. Leads development and delivery of childbirth, newborn care, sibling preparation, postpartum, and breastfeeding classes for expectant and new parents; develops and implements preceptorships, in-service programs, workshops, and continuing education on breastfeeding management for nursing and medical staff; oversees perinatal education department operations and breast pump rental station management. Partners with multidisciplinary team to support breastfeeding goals and patient education; demonstrates mentoring, coaching, and lactation knowledge to improve outcomes and staff development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- RN licensure
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification
