Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care and treatments for patients in an assigned clinical area. Coordinate patient scheduling, maintain accurate records, and manage admissions while counseling patients and families on conditions, diets, and medication schedules. Serve as a liaison between case managers, home health nurses, and utilization review, and act as a preceptor in accordance with UMMC guidelines. Maintain safety standards, coordinate referrals, and contribute to nursing councils or committees to improve patient care. This PRN role requires a valid RN license, rotating shifts, and occasional work in high-noise or biohazardous environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license
  • Knowledge of clinical nursing care procedures and protocols

  • Knowledge and understanding of computer systems, tools and programs
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Occasional travelling to offsite locations
  • Occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours
