Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurses are responsible for assisting obstetricians and midwives during delivery and providing care for women in labor, including pain management and ongoing fetal monitoring. Key responsibilities include performing initial and continuous patient assessments, interpreting fetal monitor data, administering medications, monitoring vital signs for both mother and baby, and providing emotional support throughout labor, birth, and postpartum care. Candidates must have a current RN licensure in California and an Associate's degree in nursing, with a preference for a BSN and prior experience in Labor & Delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the State of California
- Current AHA BLS required upon hire
- 1 year Labor & Delivery, OB, Couplet Care Experience strongly preferred
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred
- ACLS certification as required by Department
- NRP certification as required by Department
- PALS certification as required by Department
