Job Summary
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room provides professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for patients within the unit. Responsibilities include coordinating care throughout the hospital and collaborating with the healthcare team to meet patients' needs. Required qualifications include current California RN licensure and various certifications such as AHA BLS, care for patients at level 3, and adherence to departmental policies for additional certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Current licensure to practice registered nursing in the State of California
- Current AHA BLS required upon hire
- ACLS, NRP, and PALS certification as required by the Department
- Participates in patient education
- Directs and assists in activities of ancillary personnel
Desired Qualifications
- Previous clinical experience in a patient care setting preferred
- Successful completion of orientation and training to the point of competence
