Job Summary
Round frequently throughout the shift identifying issues requiring administrative action and communication to appropriate levels. Supervise and lead nursing staff effectively while serving as a resource for patient care delivery. Provide care based on physical, psycho-social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the patient population. Adapt behavior to specific patient needs, including respecting privacy and adjusting explanations for procedures. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements. Maintain knowledge of current regulations and report any unethical behaviors or safety concerns immediately.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor's Degree Science of Nursing (BSN)
- 3 of years of RN experience
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to move throughout the department, the hospital, and between off-campus sites
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility
- Ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards
- Immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct
- Patient/employee safety
- Patient privacy
- Other compliance-related concerns
- Individuals who reside in and will work from the following areas are not eligible for remote work position: Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C.
Desired Qualifications
- Critical care or charge nurse experience
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
