Job Summary
Coordinate and direct patient care by auditing care plans, verifying home medications, and monitoring documentation of behaviors and compliance. Facilitate patient group therapy, assist in orientation, and ensure regulatory reporting compliance through SQSS checks. Consult departments for an interdisciplinary approach, coordinate with program managers to meet care plans, and assist in policy revisions. Maintain staffing levels, monitor attendance, and investigate patient complaints while promoting professional, ethical nursing standards. Work in a hospital or addiction rehabilitation environment requiring long periods of standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and managing stress under exposure to contagious disease.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing
- Current licensure by the State of Oklahoma or National Council of State Boards of Nursing for Registered Nurse
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- CPI certification or equivalent de-escalation training
- Professional knowledge of nursing care principles specific to behavioral health and recovery of addiction
- Knowledge of quality management processes
- Knowledge of ethics
- Knowledge of infection prevention practices
- Specific knowledge of psychiatric nursing disease and the disease process
- Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, their desired effects, side effects and complications of their use
- Ability to recognize and react to emergency situations both medical and psychiatric
- Knowledge and skill in operation and monitoring of general nursing equipment
- Ability to develop, implement and evaluate a patient care plan
- Computer literacy and ability to become proficient in electronic medical record
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in oral and written form
- Knowledge of wide variety of medical disorders, normal course of diseases, potential complications and individual therapeutic interventions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
