Job Summary
Staff shift and plan staffing for the next shift, justifying deviations to the Chief Nursing Officer. Assess patients and plan care for shift needs across all departments, assuming ER responsibility when personnel are absent. Evaluate quality of nursing care through rounds, oversee admissions, transfers, and discharges, and supervise staff in maintaining adequate drug records. Administer safety policies, ensure infection control, check crash carts, and communicate pertinent information to on-coming supervisors via the Supervisor's Communication Book. Assist with employee evaluations and support administrative decisions while adhering to USMD policies. Requires current Texas or Compact RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, plus three years of professional nursing experience. Full-time rotating schedule from 7a to 7p.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN Licensure, either Texas or Compact
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
Desired Qualifications
- BSN
- Three years professional nursing experience
