Job Summary
Provide patient care using the nursing process under the supervision of a licensed RN. Perform nursing assessments, participate in developing and implementing individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments per Illinois scope of practice, document care activities, and support patient and family education. Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and maintain HIPAA and confidentiality. In clinic and ambulatory settings, assist with patient flow and telephone triage under RN supervision. Requires IL RN licensure eligibility with License Pending status and active license within the required timeframe; CPR/BLS within 3 months; additional unit-specific certifications (ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP) may be required. Strong communication, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills; ability to work under supervision, with opportunities for professional development and advancement.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for Illinois RN licensure with License Pending RN status; must obtain active RN license within the timeframe allowed by the Illinois Nurse Practice Act
- Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 3 months of hire
- BSN preferred; Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) or graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Other certification(s) per unit requirements (e.g., ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP)
