Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process to provide comfort-focused services for individuals and families in the hospice setting. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and families to manage symptoms, ensure emotional comfort, and coordinate the continuum of care. Perform patient education, triage, and various nursing interventions while documenting human responses to health problems in the home environment. Maintain competency within the full scope of nursing practice and adhere to state licensure and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics. Requires an unencumbered RN license, BLS certification, and one year of professional experience.
Required Qualifications
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Depending on location, a valid drivers license may be required
- An accepted offer will require a drug screen and pre-employment background screening as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience preferred
- Certificate for Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) preferred
