Job Summary
Provide direct skilled nursing services in patients' homes throughout the Omaha metro area, including catheter management, wound care, IV therapy, and disease-process education. Assess patient health status, clinical needs, and progress toward goals while developing trusted relationships through compassionate, independent care. Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and safety strategies to support independence at home. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and communicate changes in condition. Complete accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency standards and regulatory requirements. Support scheduled and PRN daytime visits as part of a weekend rotation, with opportunities to pick up additional weekday or after-hours work based on availability.
Required Qualifications
- Home Health Registered Nurse
- At least one year of nursing experience
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active Registered Nurse license in Nebraska or another Nurse Licensure Compact state
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Valid driver's license
- Current automobile insurance coverage
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English
- Must be able to safely provide nursing care in a variety of home environments
- Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and movement as needed
- Must be able to work independently and make sound clinical decisions in the field
- Must be able to manage a mix of scheduled and PRN visits
- Must be able to utilize technology, electronic documentation systems, and clinical resources efficiently and effectively
- Must be able to travel throughout the Omaha metro area
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
- Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications
- Previous home health or home care nursing experience
- Previous OASIS experience
- Experience with catheter management, wound care, IV therapy, and disease-process education
- One year of nursing experience in a home care or home health setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to solve practical problems and respond appropriately to changing patient needs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with patients, families, providers, and team members
- Ability to work independently while remaining connected with the interdisciplinary care team
- Strong organizational, time-management, and documentation skills
- A calm, flexible, and professional approach in changing or stressful situations
- Comfort using computers, laptops, electronic medical records, and clinical documentation systems
- Reliable follow-through and a strong commitment to patient-centered care
- Experience with planned and PRN daytime visits

- Experience developing trusted relationships with patients and families through compassionate, respectful, and dependable care
- Experience educating patients and family members on care plans, medications, symptoms, safety, and strategies that support independence at home
