Job Summary
Oversees and delivers comprehensive nursing care on a Neuro/Heart & Vascular ICU unit, including developing, communicating and documenting individualized plans of care; supervising non-RN personnel; serving as charge nurse and preceptor; implementing education for patients and families; and applying advanced skills in neuro assessment, airway management, and care for trached patients. Demonstrates knowledge of ICU/Cardiothoracic care, critical care equipment, and specialized programs (e.g., TIA Teaching Program) to support patient outcomes and continuity of care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
