Job Summary
Registered Nurse - Heart & Vascular ICU (CTICU) at Yale-New Haven Health System overseeing adult cardiac care in a fast-paced 14-bed unit. Responsibilities include assessing ongoing physical and psychosocial patient conditions, developing and documenting individualized care plans with involvement of patients and families, coordinating and evaluating care with the healthcare team, providing education and readiness for discharge, serving as a preceptor to new staff, and acting as a Charge Nurse. The role emphasizes advanced heart failure management, perioperative/postoperative care for cardiothoracic patients, and care of neuro and ventilated patients as part of a specialized cardiac ICU team. The nurse must adhere to unit policies and standards, demonstrate professional behavior per organizational values, and participate in ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
