Job Summary
Conduct bedside shift reports, maintain patient and family updates, and lead the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practice. Coordinate safe, quality patient care delivery while documenting outcomes and adapting service to population-specific characteristics and cultural diversity. Mentor staff and students, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and collaborate on protocol development to promote best practice outcomes. Uphold Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act standards, Wellstar policies, and TJC safety goals within an interdisciplinary team. Requires current RN licensure, accredited nursing degree, and direct patient care experience.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed RN
- Knowledgeable and upholds the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act
- Implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association
- Upholds the voice of the patient, system policies and procedures
- Performs the Nursing Process (assessment; planning; implementation and evaluation)
- Uses analytical/critical thinking
- Coordinates care through effective partnerships
- Provides relationship-based patient centered care
- Adapts service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity
- Keeps the patient and significant others updated
- Makes the patients goals the focus of the plan of care

- Promotes the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members
- Participates and supports performance improvement
- Initiates and/or leads activities promoting safe, quality patient care

- Serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses (and staff or students for all disciplines)

- Participates in the development of protocols and procedures
- Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelors Nursing
- RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
- Less than 1 year Completion of accredited/ approved school of nursing with requisition clinical hours
