Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care in Critical Care units at Mercy Hospital South, maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care with other departments. Participate in an 8–16 week hands-on clinical training experience featuring one-on-one mentoring, structured classroom sessions, and guidance from nurse educators to build clinical confidence and critical thinking skills. Complete required certifications within 30 days of hire and meet physical requirements for lifting and patient assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Nursing Diploma
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state eligibility
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Specialty certifications
- Acute care or clinical experience
- Previous hospital experience
