Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care for all age groups in a fast-paced PCU unit. Monitor and coordinate care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes for cardiac, respiratory distress, and septic patients. Perform duties consistent with nursing practice guidelines, Mercy Service Standards, and the State Nurse Practice Act. Requires strong assessment skills and teamwork in a step-down environment combining ED and ICU aspects.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
