Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care for all age groups in the Progressive Care Unit. Monitor and coordinate care with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort while adhering to state nursing practice acts and Mercy Service Standards. Manage cardiac, respiratory distress, and septic patients, including those requiring high-flow oxygen or BiPAP, in a fast-paced environment combining ED and ICU aspects. Requires strong assessment skills and teamwork. Perform duties consistent with the mission, values, and ethics of the Sisters of Mercy.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
