Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care for cardiac, respiratory distress, and septic patients in the Progressive Care Unit. Monitor and coordinate care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes for patients too sick for the floor but not yet ICU level. Perform duties consistent with nursing practice guidelines, the Sisters of Mercy philosophy, and state Nurse Practice Act. Requires strong assessment skills and teamwork in a fast-paced unit combining ED and ICU aspects. 36-hour week, nights, with sign-on bonuses for graduate and experienced nurses.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
