Job Summary
Provide high acuity care to critically ill post-operative trauma, stroke, and medical overflow patients in a 16-bed Progressive Care Unit. Manage common therapies including lumbar drains, external ventricular drains, antidysrhythmic drips, vasopressors, Bipap, and high-flow oxygen systems. Coordinate patient care with other departments and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality while utilizing the nursing process to ensure professional accountability. Work in a busy, team-oriented environment within the Critical Care Cluster with opportunities for cross-training and career progression into ICU units.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Ability to meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
