Job Summary
Provide patient care for critically ill post-operative trauma, stroke, and medical overflow patients in a 16-bed intermediate ICU. Manage common therapies including lumbar drains, external ventricular drains, antidysrhythmic drips, vasopressors, and ventilator support. Coordinate care with other departments while maintaining professional accountability and patient confidentiality. Requires current RN licensure and BLS certification, with physical demands including lifting 50 pounds and prolonged standing. Offers an 18-month career path to transition into ICU units.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
