Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care activities for all age groups on the Medical A floor. Monitor and coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize comfort while adhering to state nurse practice acts and Mercy Service Standards. Educate patients on procedural expectations and discharge medications within a 30-bed unit serving chronically ill individuals. Perform duties consistent with the goals of Mercy Health System and the Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy. Maintain current RN licensure and Basic Life Support certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- 36 hours per week, Nights
