Job Summary
Provide high-acuity care to critically ill post-operative cardiothoracic, vascular, and medical overflow patients in a 28-bed fully monitored intermediate ICU. Manage common therapies including chest tubes, lytic therapy, antidysrhythmic agents, low-dose vasopressors, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, insulin drips, and Precedex. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate patient care with Neuro Trauma PCU and ICUs for cross-training opportunities. Maintain professional accountability and patient confidentiality while utilizing the nursing process to deliver compassionate care in a busy, team-oriented setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
