Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinate patient care with other departments. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards across Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical, and Women's Health departments. Work variable shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours, with a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days and a maximum of 30 hours weekly. Be available on short notice and subject to last-minute cancellations. Earn $40/hour plus variable shift incentives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Minimum of two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for all other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.)
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B)
- BLS and ACLS certification for Critical Care (CC)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification for Emergency Department (ED)
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
